Thermal Printer

What is a Thermal Printer?

A Thermal Printer uses heat to produce images on heat-sensitive paper.

This technology is particularly popular in environments where speed and efficiency are crucial, such as in retail for printing receipts or in shipping operations for creating labels. Unlike traditional inkjet or laser printers, thermal printers don’t require ink cartridges or toner, making them cost-effective and low-maintenance. They work by selectively heating regions of special heat-sensitive paper, which turns black as it heats up, forming images or text. The simplicity of this process not only reduces the operational costs but also increases the reliability of these printers since there are fewer moving parts to maintain.
